School in US

Just like you, kids here also have to go to school. It’s required for parents to send their children to school so they can get a good education and essential skills for their future. Education is a fundamental right for every child and plays a crucial role in shaping their lives and contributing to the overall development of society. Ensuring children attend school regularly benefits them individually and has a significant impact on the community. There is also room for us to choose homeschool. We will talk about this later.

As early as a newborn baby, a child can attend a Head Start program or any daycare program. However, this is optional especially good for a working parent. But when a child turns 4 years old, he/she should attend prekindergarten class either in a public or private school or through homeschooling. This mandatory class will continue through 12th grade. Pre-kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st through 5th grade is elementary level, focusing on fundamental learning and social development. 6th to 8th grade is middle school level, where students start to delve deeper into various subjects and begin to explore their interests. 9th to 12th grade is high school level, providing a more comprehensive and specialized education, offering students the opportunity to gain college credits through advanced placement courses and dual enrollment programs.

The government provides a free public school for any child living in the US, regardless of nationality, residency status, or immigration status. Additionally, the government also provides free meals for low-income families. As part of the education system, there are various extracurricular activities and enrichment programs available, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience for all students. Furthermore, the government collaborates with community organizations to organize educational events and workshops, promoting lifelong learning and skill development. This comprehensive approach aims to ensure that every child receives a high-quality education, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the modern world.

In most of the states in the US, the government provides support for education by offering subsidies and assistance to families who choose to homeschool, providing access to educational resources and materials. In some states, they also support families who choose private schools for their children’s education.
